UniCal Privacy Policy

UniCal (“the app”) is a macOS application developed and maintained by Conversantech. This policy explains what data the app accesses, how it is used, and the choices you have. It applies to the UniCal desktop application only.

In short: UniCal runs entirely on your Mac. It connects directly to Google’s servers to show and manage your calendars. It does not send your data to Conversantech or any third party, and there is no UniCal server or database. Your information never leaves your device except in your direct, authenticated requests to Google.

Information UniCal accesses

When you connect a Google account, UniCal requests your permission to access:

Basic profile (openid, email, profile) — your name and email address, used to label the connected account inside the app.
Google Calendar (https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar) — your calendar list and events, used to display a unified calendar and to create, edit, or delete events when you ask the app to.

How UniCal uses this information

Calendar and profile data are used solely to provide the app’s core functionality on your device: showing your meetings across multiple accounts in one place, sending you local reminders, flagging scheduling conflicts, and letting you manage events. The data is not used for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to the app’s features.

Where your data is stored

Sign-in tokens are stored securely in the macOS Keychain on your computer.
A local cache of your calendars and events is stored in the app’s Application Support folder on your computer, so the app works quickly and offline.
There is no remote server, database, or backup operated by Conversantech. Conversantech cannot see your calendar data.

Information sharing

UniCal does not sell, rent, or share your personal information or Google user data with any third party. The only network communication is directly between your Mac and Google’s APIs to fulfill requests you initiate.

Google API Services User Data Policy

UniCal’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Data retention and deletion

You are in control of your data at all times:

Removing an account in UniCal deletes its stored tokens from the Keychain and its cached events from your computer.
Deleting the app removes the local cache; you can also clear the app’s Application Support folder manually.
You can revoke UniCal’s access to your Google account at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

Security

UniCal authenticates using Google’s OAuth 2.0 with PKCE and stores credentials in the macOS Keychain. The app contains no client secret and transmits data only over encrypted HTTPS connections to Google.

Children’s privacy

UniCal is a productivity tool intended for general business and personal use and is not directed to children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
